North-West University (NWU) Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025
North-West University (NWU) is offering a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in its Centre for Space Research (CSR). This position is ideal for candidates with expertise in high-energy astrophysics, galaxy formation and evolution, or heliospheric physics.
Location: Potchefstroom or Mahikeng Campus (based on research focus and host availability)

Position Details
- Fellowship Amount: ZAR 299,600 (tax-free) per annum
- Additional Benefits:
- Once-off relocation allowance of up to ZAR 20,000
- ZAR 40,000 per annum for research running expenses
- Start Date: As soon as possible
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, space physics, or related fields.
- Timeline: PhD must have been obtained no more than 5 years before the start date of the appointment.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be under 45 years of age.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Actively contribute to the research activities of the CSR.
- Publish research findings in a timely manner.
- Mentor postgraduate students.
